RHINOS STOMP RULES

*PAPERWORK REQUIRED

Players will not be allowed to play unless the below paperwork is available at sign in.

SCYR AND USA RUGBY AGE ELIGIBILITY RULES WILL BE FOLLOWED

  • All players must be CIPP registered to their own team and cleared to play.
  • Mixed teams (i.e. players from different clubs, all-star teams, traveling teams etc) are not eligible to participate.
  • There will be no play for: unregistered and “ID pending” athletes;
  • SCYR and USA Rugby age eligibility rules will be followed
  • Every Coach must turn in a fully completed match report/roster printed from the SCYR’s CMS.
  • All players age waivers need to be approved online in SCYR’s CMS and must be displayed on match report. This means that no player who has a box around their age on the match report  is allowed to play.
  • Athletes must be present at check-in and will be verified against their name and photo on the printed match report/roster.

SIGN IN PROCESS

  • Check-ins begin at 9:00 am at Field 21
  • All players must be present.
  • Provide all required paperwork to the sign-in desk (see above under “Tournament Rules”)
  • Teams that do not check-in on time are subject to forfeit.

GAMES SCHEDULE

  • Schedule and scores will be posted on this page on January 3rd, 2019.
  • We will notify you by email when they are available.

GENERAL RULES OF PLAY & TOURNAMENT

Every player is required to wear a mouthguard. No exceptions. Please ensure you are at the field of play, 10 minutes prior to your scheduled kickoff.

Substitution policy: U8 – U12:  Rolling Subs – U14: 3 Subs per Half

  • No kicks after a try
  • Away team (1st listed team per game) kicks off to start the game, from the far side of the field (U12/U14 – side farthest away from field; U8/U10 – side closest to the balloon).
  • Once a game is finished, please clear the field immediately so we can stay on schedule. Sportsmanship of handshaking, team coach talk etc should be done on the side of the field.

Competition points for pool play will be awarded as follows:

  • 3 points – win
  • 2 points – draw
  • 1 point loss
  • 0 points forfeit

The following methods are used to rank teams, in order of priority:

  • Most competition points
  • Winner of the head-to-head match, if applicable
  • If the teams have the same amount of points, and they don’t have a head-to-head match, then their total game points will be considered.

In the case of a tie in the championship game, the following will determine the winner

  • Extra time of 5 minutes, on “sudden death” basis.

All and any challenges on a rule violation are to be lodged directly to the Tournament Director, Derek Nellmapius.

ALL DECISIONS MADE BY THE TOURNAMENT DIRECTOR ARE FINAL

The tournament is in the CMS so please build your rosters. We will be checking them at check-in process starting 9:00am, Field 21.

REFEREES

There will be a certified, neutral referee on each field, for all games.

MEDICAL TREATMENT

Medical staff will be provided and will have sole discretion to determine if a child is fit to return to the field of play. If a player refuses treatment, the parents or coaches will be required to sign a Refusal of Care Against Medical Advice release. No exceptions.

FIELD RULES

  • No alcohol is permitted on the premises of the tournament.
  • Pop-up tents are allowed in designated areas.
  • No glass containers or smoking is allowed.
  • No dogs allowed at the tournament

AWARDS & CEREMONY

  • Medals will be awarded to 1st and 2nd place for each age division.
  • Experienced divisions will receive medals and prizes for 1st and 2nd place (Club Team training session with Rhinos Academy Head of Rugby, Hein Kriek; Rugby Balls; Club Team Body Metrics; Free Week @ Rhinos Academy.
  • Award ceremony will take place at the main tent right after each finals match.
